The Unthinkable Happens...
Apple today announced that Leopard would not ship in June, as expected, but rather in October. The reason given: Finishing the software for the iPhone has taken more energy than anticipated. Apple had to take some engineers out of the Leopard crew and put them onto iPhone's development.
Apple today also seeded a new developer build of Leoaprd, Mac OS X 10.5 9A410. The build has quite a list of outstanding bugs. Apple will give developers at WWDC in June an almost-finished build of Leopard, Apple said today. But for people who have put off buying a new Mac because of Apple's previous stance of delivering this "in Spring 2007" (so people have been expecting March, April and later May and June as the release date), this certainly is frustrating.
Update: At least the new build of Leopard, 9A410, shows some promise in the UI department. Gone is brushed metal, the apps adopt the unified look already present in Mail.app etc. in Tiger. I, for one, applaud that.
Comments:
Yes quite frustrating in deed. I have a iMac (the desk lamp varient) and I am wanting to upgrade. It looks like the Nokia E90 will come first now even w/o 3G support in North America.

Where do you see that about the E90?

Isn't the E90 shipping 2nd quarter 07. I have seen some sites stating end of April or did you mean 3G support in North America? I want both E90 and iMac

The latest _I_ know is that the E90 will ship in June in Europe. I wouldn't know about any earlier shipping time in the US, where it doesn't make that much sense, because only Europe's/parts-of-Asia's 3G-nets are supported.

I had read April but when I searched for a "reliable" source I could not find one. I haven't even read Nokia will offically bring the E90 to the US but I was going to purchase unlocked via the "grey" market. As far as 3G... It's not available in my area. The closest city is ~96 km away. As you are aware the US is lagging behind Asia and Europe in mobile tech and it is frustrating experience. Still the E90 is very close to what I have been searching for. Yes I agree it won't be in the US before it would be in Europe. Sorry that my posting was unclear.
