Grrr! :/
Apple apparently has added "resizeVolume" to "diskutil". On intel Macs. So resizing partitions non-destructively is now a feature of Mac OS X' diskutil tool (the Terminal one at least) - but only on intel Macs it seems. Please Apple? Can we have that on PPC Macs, too?
Comments:
resizeVolume is available also on PPC Macs given your disk is formatted with GPT. The new format can be used on PPC I just don't know if you can boot a PPC mac from it, according to some comments you can.

Hm. So you mean that one day we _might_ be able to clean-install Tiger or Leopard on PPC-Macs and choose "GPT HFS+" while installing and _then_ we can choose to resize the partitions afterwards. Well: Too bad, since that kinda involves cleaning the partitions first. ;) ... So: Grrr... :/
